Married to Susan Catherine Kline (nee: Linebaugh) (Marker)

Born and raised in the Wolfsville, Maryland area of the Catoctin Mountains, in Frederick County, Maryland.

Served in the Union Army during the American Civil War, where he was enlisted in Maryland Company G, 7th Regiment as a private in the infantry unit.

When he met Susan Catherine Marker she was widowed with one daughter and pregnant with her second child. From there they went on to have seven children of their own.

After living his life laboring on his farm he passed away in 1902 at the young age of 62.
